I think it's hard to know what do in these situations. If someone is addicted to a Class A drug, they need it and it may not be their own fault that they're hooked on it. Those people need help to get off the drug, but its obviously really hard. If the drug was made legal, then it would be easier for them to access it, but as we know drug seriously damage your health. Other people come up with arguments about smoking cigarettes, which is legal even though it's a drug. This and other arguments, like if Class A drugs were legal, then more people would take them etc., mean that this is a hard decision to make. I suppose that if something is a Class A drug, then it should really just stay illegal.
Well, I think that if you make Class A drugs legal it would mean that it could lead to more drug-related deaths.
I have a friend at the moment who is taking a concoction of illegal drugs AND mixing them with drink and all of us are worried for her life yet she thinks nothing of it.
It's hard seeing one of your good friends go from being motivated to being close to being kicked out of college and being confused about what she wants to do with her life.
So, to end this short essay. I do not think that they should be made legal at all even though people are getting hold of them still, you can stop drug trafficking just like that but at least you can put people who are in possession of the drugs into prison to re-think things.
aww. i'm so sorry to hear this.
what impact did you have when you first found out that she was addicted to a class A drug?
write back please..x thankz
Well, it does have a big impact because we all knew she took weed at times but never forced it upon one of us as she knew that it was 'her' thing not ours (not condoning that she should take it) but since she has been going out with her new boyfriend, who takes a concoction of illegal drugs also, she has not only been taking just weed she is taking meth, cocaine and pressuring her own peers to take it but is not aware that she is doing it.
If you saw her, you'll never think that she took all those kind of drugs but it's starting to effect her education and people who do not know are starting to see it in her features eg. her eyes.

We are all just worried about her yet feel like we cannot do a thing, personally I feel that the only person that would get through to her is the person who is influencing her the most, her boyfriend.
aww i know how you feel. i've been though a situation like that but not this kind, its a good thing that you're still there for you're friend and you support her though thick and thin.

is here boyfriend nice to her or does he always hurt her and make her feel bad?
maybe its her relationship at home with her parents or something i mean i'm only 14 and i would never ever think twice about starting on drugs although i love caffeine in coffee....
i think you should talk to her and settle things down, but just do it 1 step at a time,
because she might switch on you.
wish you the best...x
Her boyfriend is a lovely guy, you wouldn't think he took any drugs at all. I think he loves her so much, it could end up being her destruction I guess. She calls him her best friend, wouldn't you want your best friend to tell you to fix up and do something with yourself, if they saw you changing for the worst?

x
yeah..x aww i wish i can do something to help you, but just have faith and help her thorugh that in a good way.
i believe that you're a very good friend because some friends wouldn't even support her but, since this converstaions started it looks like you care about her alot which is a good thing, because friends are mean't to stick together and help eachother though thick and thin and thats exactly what you're doiing wish you the best..x
Not that I think that drugs should be legalised, but there are alot of valid arguments for why they should be. I have to agree that drugs can really ruin some people's lives and know couple people who that has happened to, but at the same time if drugs were legalised there would be several positive aspects.

First, illegal trafficing could be seriously limited and underground selling could be rooted up as any drugs could be obtained legally in, for example, a chemists shop. Lots of gang activity and organised crime is based around gaining money illegally through the drugs trade, so many gangs involved with illegal activity would lose a major source of income.

Second, if drugs were legalised it wouldn't necessarily mean that everyone would be able to do them. If people were given a limit to how much you could buy, just like medicinal drugs, then people could be limited to certain amounts. Although this could mean another potential underground market, this market would be much smaller as drugs would be more readily available and therefore not as lucrative to fund. On this note, if drugs were legal people would be alot more inclined to look for medical help if they need to. Although you wouldn't legallly be in any trouble for walking into an A&E after O-D-ing, many people don't know this; a huge amount of people who could have lived if they had gone into hospital could have lived if they had sought medical attention.

Finally, by legalising the goverment would be able to keep legal tabs on any drugs which entered and left the country, which again would mean putting massive limits on any illegal trafficing. Hope this may have openned up the argument a little bit on legalising, but like Danica said, it is a really complex issue and no one can really be sure what would work and what wouldn't once something has been tried. Personally I don't think any class A's should be legalised, but again there is always a counter-argument!
I'm not sure about class a's but there are definately issues surrounding legality and drug use.

I'm going to use an analogy here which I don't intend to offend anyone (I'm not comparing the morality in any way). Basically, drug use's relationship with the law is similar to that of prostitution. It's a trap which is easy to fall into if youre vulnerable and then hard to get out of because of the legality issues. The higher up the clasification system you go the more the victim becomes the guilty party. Instead of the dealers (or pimps to continue my comparison) being punished: young lives are ruined in the prison system. Sure they'll be clean for the duration of their sentance
but what happens when they come out? With a criminal record what is left for these people other than drugs or brothels or crime. There has to be a better way of
dealing with these social issues than just making it all illegal.
