Who are you voting for?

After tonights first electorial debate, I'm just wonderign where everyone on WHRN, most of whom are going to be first time voters, is standign on who they would like to win for the coming up election and why! I know it's wuite i broad question to ask, but I think a debate would be nice to help undecided people decide, and also to see where young people are at in their opinions. Out of all the people I have asked already I've had a wide range of responses, but lets see what you guys think! Also,…See More

Copenhagen achieved more bad than good in my opinion. No real concrete deal but it's taken the heat off governments for a while. I felt like shouting at the telly when brown said it wasn't enough but it was a first step. Surely Kyoto was…

April Williamson replied to Paulina Ca'Shara Strawberry x's discussion 'DRUGS MADE LEGAL?'
Not that I think that drugs should be legalised, but there are alot of valid arguments for why they should be. I have to agree that drugs can really ruin some people's lives and know couple people who that has happened to, but at the same time…

I agree with Abbie, although it is true that becoming a teenage parent is not something that should be encouraged or rewarded, we can't just turn a cold-shoulder on these girls. Alot of the time it is ignorance in means of contraceptive…

April Williamson replied to Rebecca Challis's discussion 'Is Britain losing too much of it's rural landscape?'
I 100% agree with this. Although charities are trying to buy up patches of the green belt to stop the expansion of london, it will be virtually impossible to save the countryside without the help of the government. I don't even think that I am…

Copenhagen- Rushed agreements better than none at all?

Hey again everyone! Wondering what you think of this one: Are we better off with the agreements made in the Copenhagen accord which were rushed and ambiguously worded, rather than no agreement at all? Would it have been more detrimental or more beneficial to the agreements if governments had waited six months for another meeting before making final decisions?See More

China and India added to the Copenhagen Accord List

Today, it was announced that China and India have finally agreed to be formally listed on the Copenhagen Accord. With China being the world's biggest source of CO2, and India not far off as 4th largest, this is a big step towards countries coming together to create changes with impact for the future. The question now is how the countries signed up to the Copenhagen Accord will act in the coming years. Sadly the very…

Portobello Market; Goodbye?

How easy is it for us to forget local issues? In the grand scale of things, we all get caught up in the greatest and latest problems that we as people are facing together; but do we ever ask ourselves about the smaller questions sometimes? The questions which can be the most easily solved, but also the ones that are also the most easily neglected, simply because they are not as important as the other things flooding our senses from around the world. But today, I thought it would be nice to give… Continue

Fight Against Heathrow Airport Expansion

If you are passionate about Climate Change and the condition of the local environment, you should be opposed to the expansion of Heathrow Airport. The unnecessary addition of a third runway would impede our progress in cutting down emissions in the UK. Not only this, but it is emphasising the fact that our government, and ourselves, are placing economics over environment, which after the disappointing outcome of the Climate Change talks in Copenhagen last month is something that we need to… Continue
