What do you want to do before you die?

Yesterday I came across a site, 'theburiedlife.com' that I found quite inspirational. It basically outlines the undertakings of a group of 4 friends who have written a list of 100 things they want to do before they die and have set about achieving each of them. Whilst some of them are personal such as ‘be a contestant on a gameshow’ or ‘scream at the top of your lungs’, some are very socially responsible such as ‘help build a house’ or ‘donate blood’. Tokenism in politics - good thing or bad?

I interviewed Claire Short today for a Citizenship Foundation project. Although the interview was based around civic engagement and stereotypes we did speak briefly about tokenism, specifically about how she felt about the 'Blair Babes' debacle. She said she thought it was demeaning and that although it was a good thing that more women were being elected to high office at the time, it could have been simply because the Labour government wanted to look good and was very media hungry.
