Deforestation - What has happened?

A survey was taken, by the Brazilian government, between August 2006 and July 2007, about the decrease of Brazilian rainforests. They realised in that time 2.7 million acres disappeared. Actually, they didn’t disappear because we all know what happened to them. Right? THEY WERE CUT DOWN! To put that into terms we know, that’s the equivalent of four football pitches being destroyed every minute in just Brazil.
