10 quick ways to help prevent Global Warming.

You make think not turning off you lights or leaving the tap running while you are brushing your teeth is not important. However doing this you can affect the climate. To learn how to change for the better and save our
planet, read these 10 quick ways to save the environment…

1.Reduce, Reuse, And Recycle.

To help reduce you can use reusable products instead of disposables and buy products with minimal packaging helps reduce waste. To recycle all you have to do is put paper, plastic, newspaper,
glass and aluminium cans in a recycling bin instead of a normal bin. How easy
is that?

2. Change your light bulbs.

If you change your light bulbs to energy saving ones not only are you using two-thirds less energy but you are also saving money. Plus the fact that some energy saving light bulbs can last
up to ten times longer then average ones!

3.Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning.

By insulating your house more you are keeping more warmth in your home and using less heating reducing YOUR bills, so this does not only help you. It helps the earth.

4.Drive less.

Use public transport more often to get to work/school in the mornings or even walk. By doing this you can reduce carbon emissions, therefore helping our climate. Not to mention the fact you could save money on petrol/diesel
bills frequently.

5.Buy Energy-Efficient products.

If you are planning on buying something new, remember to check if it is energy-efficient. Many products, e.g. Kitchen appliances, light bulbs, TV’s, now come in energy-efficient models. You are getting the same
product but its helping the planet, so why not?

6.Switching things off.

Watching the T.V? Playing on the computer? Any thing that you are doing which is plugged in, Switch off. Or even un-plugging these items can help. Even if you are only brushing your teeth you can turn off the tap
whilst you are not using this. By doing this you can reduce YOUR water bill and
help our planet.

7.Using less hot water.

If you set your water heater to around 120 degrees you can help reduce carbon dioxide. Even putting your dishwasher or washing machine on the energy saving level can help.

8.Grow your own food, plants and trees.

Plant a tree or plant and help absorb carbon dioxide and give off more oxygen. Even growing your own food can make a difference.

9.Encourage others.

If you are at school or work encourage everybody to start recycling or turning things. By doing this you are helping the environment as if all of us work together, the more we can get done to save our earth!

10.Report Cards.

To learn how well you are keeping your house energy-efficient get a report card from your Utility Company. By getting one of these you can be able to see what areas of you home/work place/School are not
energy-efficient.

All of these 10 steps are so simple it’s a wonder why more people aren’t doing them. If just one person helps it can make a difference. Don’t think what you do to help won’t make a difference, as it will. If we work
together we can save our planet and make it a safe place for our family’s in
the future.

I think personally, it's a matter of restricting trade and placing tighter embargos. If you look at the amount of waste and energy that goes into the disposal of numerous products, they take a lot of energy, therefore polluting more. As a result, if countries trade less, less factories needed meaning also less waste gases and energy use for disposal.

I agree with you, however i feel that people should not be pressured into helping. People who have the right attitude towards helping should read this and even maybe use it. I do agree that we need to suggest a way of getting the message into peoples heads more effectively, perhaps using ways that can be fun, and that people can relate to. I Personally think that younger people like my age should help. Finding ways to suggest that we do this can be hard as many do not see the importance. I do think the government need to cut down on the amount of factories in china, USA and UK. It is becoming more of a problem. How do we solve these problems? Cut down on the amount of factories in countries that are high polluters? Find alternative ways to make products?

Haha, fair do's. I'll leave it there, and not convolute this argument. On a serious note however, your guide seems good, but it's a matter of it being implemented. How possible is it to ensure people would follow these, and how easy is it for people to break out of such a habit? Some people don't even BELIEVE in global warming and it's effects, and I think we need to suggest a way of getting the message into people's heads effectively.

For me, I think governments need to take a lot more action than people on their own. Take the example of China, the people's lifestyles are very simplistic and aren't very polluting. However, China has one of the highest carbon emissions because of the factories and the production, especially the factories of other countries such as USA and UK. How do we solve those problems?

Alright then. If you did get into an accident in a couple of years then your contribution would not have been useless as you would have been helping more people than yourself. However if you did not feel the need to help then nobody is forcing you. :)

Yeah, but we're all gonna die eventually. We can't run away from it. Then surely, if we're all going to die ANYWAY, saving my future family or myself's future would be futile. In effect, all you're asking us to do is to save Earth, and what would the usefulness of that be if all that happens is that I might live for a few more years. What if I were to get shot in a horrible incident like Derek Bird? Then my contribution would have been pointless as it didn't affect me.

(Again, joking)

Oh ok well if it were a real comment i would reply by saying that it would not be just about you grandchildren or future family, you are making your own life span shorter. If the world was more healthier with you would be more healthier, making you live longer. Also to say that never seeing a dinosaur is slightly irrelevant considering dinosaurs dies of natural causes. :)

So what if my grandchildren never see a polar bear? I never saw a dinosaur. As a result, I won't participate in 'preserving' the world.

(I'm just joking btw, I want to see how you'd respond to my pessimism.)
