I apologise for my lack of activity but I've been whipped up into the mad world of electioneering and I'm out on across Scotland everyday campaigning in the election.

My own role aside, I want to say that there is just over a week until the election. This is one of the most unpredictable elections ever, with lots of new factors affecting who might be Prime Minister in just over a week. What is important is that you vote. At each election about 60% of people vote, which means that millions of people don't bother to show their opinions.

I don't care if you go down and rip up your paper, but make sure you use your right to vote. It is important because you are being asked how you want the country to be run over the next 5 years, and so you must answer this. If you spoil your paper (draw dinosaurs all over it or something) then you are showing you don't approve and spoiled papers are counted and announced. If you sit in your house and don't bother then you aren't taking part in it and so if the government makes mistakes or goes against what you believe then you can't say you didn't try to stop it.

So get out and vote. Make sure you read into what the parties stand for too.
